The Career Cruise-In was an event for the eighth graders at FMS. This event was held at night for the eighth graders to plan their high school schedule and visit vendors, such as the Mineral County Technical Center programs.

The Cruise-in helps eighth graders learn about extracurricular activities like cross country, volleyball, baseball, etc. It was held at the FMS gym, and dinner was in the FMS cafeteria. For dinner the school served Chick-fil-a. There were many community members involved including the WV Department of Natural Police, Military Recruiters, WV State Police Recruiters, Allegany College of Maryland, Potomac State College, Eastern Technical College, and College Foundation of West Virginia. Many teachers stayed, too. Some of the teachers were Mrs. Sidley, Mrs. Burner, Mr. Larrick, Mr. Morris, and others. Ms. Sarah Malone (math), talked about the FHS band. Ms. Moreland from the high school talked about the drama club, and Mr. Hesse also from FHS gave a presentation to the parents about getting their kids involved in high school and about academic eligibility for athletics.

This was a great opportunity for all of the eighth graders at FMS to know what to look forward to in high school and to be prepared for what will happen next year.
